Louisiana Flood Relief

Updated 8/23/2016:

WE NEED A TRUCK & TRAILER and it's willing owner to drive it over loaded with supplies. We have some donated to help cover the cost of your fuel. We have filled 2 trucks, 2 trailers and 3 SUV's with your generous donations and we have more stuff!! Our other option is to rent a U-haul and find a driver. We have reached out to a few businesses that may be willing to cover the cost of the UHaul. If you know a business, please share our need with them. If you are interested in traveling to Denham Springs Louisiana this weekend to help disburse supplies collected from the Boerne community. PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! Check out Christ's Community Church (Denham Springs) on Facebook, and you will see the tremendous work they are doing. Our donations will be going directly there and will be put in the hands of the needy. We can stay in the church - bring your own bedding. The floor is hard, I also suggest an air mattress. They will feed us, meals during travel are your responsibility. Volunteers are needed to help pass out supplies, cook food, serve meals, demo homes, clean homes, rock babies, and hand out HUGS and tell these people they weren't forgotten. We will leave Boerne Friday morning 8-10 hour drive. 8/26 and most of us will return on Sunday. You can stay if you want to. Thank you again for blowing me away with your faithful and generous response!

Y'all ROCK!! The donations for Louisiana from yesterday are amazing. God is multiplying them 10 fold already from people in the community. The blessings are plentiful. The trailer will remain at church until Wednesday evening. If you have gathered clothes, we ask that you sort them (Boys, Girls, Ladies, Men) into bags and label each bag. The Lord has blessed this mission in so many ways already, I am in awe of his faithfulness. Thank you for being obedient to God's call.

With GrateFULL hearts,

Hello nineteen:ten family,
As you know, the flooding in Louisiana has caused the worst natural disaster since Hurricane Sandy.  40,000 homes have been damaged, 13 people have died and over 70,000 people have applied for FEMA assistance so far.  Thousands of people have been evacuated with nothing but the clothes on their backs and will be returning to homes and vehicles that will be a total loss.  The need is GREAT.

John and Erin Tamplet will be returning to their hometown on Friday August 26th to disburse relief supplies through Christ’s Community Church in Denham Springs (east of Baton Rouge), most of their members lost everything and many do not have flood insurance.

We want to show these people God’s love.  First we are asking for prayer, that the Lord directs and blesses this mission, prayer for those affected, prayer for safe travel, and blessings to those that donate.
Donations may be brought to the church this SUNDAY, August 21st, DURING SERVICE TIMES.  Drop offs may also be made DURING THE WEEK UNTIL WEDNESDAY, August 24th at the CHURCH or at the TAMPLET'S HOME: 210 Cibolo Branch (off Johns Road).  Their numbers are 225-445-7308(John) & 225-445-7360 (Erin).  Please call for possible pickup if needed.
What is needed:
Clothes – all children’s sizes, no adult at this time, used clothes are fine, we just ask for wearable items
Shoes – all sizes, used shoes are fine, we request wearable items
Underwear – all shapes and sizes (NEW PLEASE)
Diapers – all sizes
Cash donations – will purchase items as needed and help with medications for victims (not tax deductible)
Blankets and sheets – all sizes
Socks – all shapes and sizes
Blow up mattresses
Feminine products
Toiletries - toothpaste, shampoo, bars of soap, toothbrushes, ibuprofen, tylenol and sunscreen
Paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates & plastic utensils
School supplies - pencils, spiral notebooks, loose leaf paper, crayons, rulers, etc.
Bleach – lots of bleach will be needed
Pine Sol
Rubber tubs - all sizes

Any volunteers are welcome to join them – they will be leaving on Friday morning and will return on Sunday the 28th.  At this point accommodations aren’t finalized – they may be staying with victims in a shelter and will be responsible for our own food.  This is the perfect opportunity to relieve the weary volunteers and give hope to hurting people.

This is a great need.  Give as the Lord leads!

Thank you so much!

Our purpose at nineteen:ten church has always been about finding people far from God so they can be restored to a loving relationship found only in Jesus. There’s no greater generosity than investing in the one thing Jesus built - the local church. With God’s favor and your support, we have seen the lost found and baptized, marriages & relationships restored, lives transformed, needs met, the equipping of the next generation and much more.
