MISSIONS

Ministries We Support Financially

nineteen:ten church is committed to coming alongside other ministries, both locally and internationally, to help equip them in reaching the people God has called them to serve. They are listed here if you are interested in learning more about them or would like to get involved.

Domestic Missions

Christian Unity

Christian Unity Ministries seeks to further the gospel of Jesus Christ by training and equipping the local church and Christian organizations in Biblical unity. They use conferences, retreats, and training events, where they teach scriptural values and processes for interpersonal relationships. Their curriculum is often taught in Pastoral Conferences during overseas mission trips. The principle of Christian unity is foreign in many cultures.

Volunteer Opportunities: PRAY for their ministry to be blessed and that their works around the world would teach a needed concept in hostile countries!

Taking it to the Streets – San Antonio

Taking It to the Streets Is a Christian based collaborative community ministry that provides prayer, meals, clothing, and support to the homeless and less fortunate in the greater San Antonio and Boerne areas. They strive to create opportunities for the body of Christ to take part in being the hands and feet of Jesus and serve those who are in need. They serve a warm meal and distribute clothing to approximately 200 homeless people downtown as well as distribute food to impoverished families on a weekly basis.

Volunteer Opportunities: Be a part of serving food every Friday night and/or 1st and 3rd Saturdays in downtown San Antonio.

Hill Country Daily Bread

Hill Country Daily Bread (HCDB) strives to unite and equip the Body of Christ with food, resources, and training necessary to transform our communities and the lives of those in poverty and need through the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. They do this right here in our own backyard as they currently serve 2,800+ families on a weekly basis. HCDB was founded by David and Agnes Hubbard.

HCDB Volunteer Opportunities: Become a Family Mentor by delivering a prepared food box to their home every other Thursday. You can also become a student mentor, help with Friday night food distribution for families without mentors or provide operational, administrative or special project support.

Baptist General Convention of Texas

The Baptist General Convention of Texas encourages, facilitates and connects churches in their work to fulfill God’s mission of reconciling the world to Himself.

Volunteer Opportunities: PRAY for their ministry efforts.

Hill Country Pregnancy Center

Every day, Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center receives calls from women and men, who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, seeking an abortion or from someone who’s struggling to deal with a past abortion decision. Since 1984, their center has offered Christ centered help to hundreds of women and men. They encourage all clients seeking an abortion to consider choosing life for their unborn child. And for those who’ve had an abortion, they gently lead them toward God’s merciful and healing power.

Volunteer Opportunities: Participate in the Baby Bottle Boom-a-rang Fundraiser every May. Give of your time in the Nanny’s Closet and Boutique, which is constantly taking donations for baby and maternity items needed for expecting mothers. You can also become a bible study leader or a counselor for women dealing with abortion, join their school relations team, prayer team, assist with administrative and clerical work or sign up for their Gala in September.

Little Black Dress Society

The Little Black Dress Society exists to educate our community on domestic violence and abuse and empower and embrace survivors. Their vision is to help restore hope to women and their children by working with the community and to best assess their needs once they leave their abuser. LBDS wants to ensure these women that they are worthy of love and respect and help them build their self-esteem.

No Strings Attached

No Strings Attached Outreach is a support group for women that work in the sex industry. We provide support, resources and connections in the community when needed for women that currently work in the sex industry.

Once a month we have a team of women that visit the adult entertainment clubs in San Antonio with the purpose of letting the girls know they are loved, valued and purposed. We develop relationships with the girls and guys working in the clubs. Sometimes that leads to trusted friendships and women that decide they need our assistance and support leaving the sex industry. We believe everyone deserves to hear and experience the gospel. We like to say, the church has left the building. So our team packs pretty little gifts, hand written love notes from God and heads out into our community to show Gods love in a practical way with no strings attached.

Bag stuffing is every second Wednesday at nineteen:ten church in the Refuel Café. Everyone is welcome. We are currently in need of unopened hotel toiletries, lip gloss, nail polish and any girly, crafty items you can donate. Please leave them at the front desk labeled "NSAGirls". If you would like to volunteer, join our bag stuffing parties, have resources available for our girls or donate please use the email contact below and someone will be in touch with you.

Foreign Missions

Children’s HopeChest – Guatemala

2015 ushered in a new partnership between nineteen:ten church and Children's HopeChest. Currently we are sponsoring over 110 children in the city of Tecpán, Guatemala. These children attend the school named Colegio Israel and their primary goal is to offer deserving children the opportunity to get an education, even if their family cannot afford the school fees. Our partnership has allowed these sponsored children opportunities they otherwise could not have obtained! We are excited to begin team trips in 2016! If you are interested in joining an upcoming trip, please contact Anne Haworth for more information. Or if you are interested in sponsoring a child Guatemala, visit our site at http://www.ci.hopechest.org.

While leading trips overseas, Greg is passionate about sharing the word of Christ to those who have never heard the Good News before. He also brings much needed support and encouragement to the local pastors in the areas in which he visits. He has led multiple trips for nineteen:ten to Africa, Indonesia, Cancun, Philippines and Guadalajara, Mexico over the past ten years.

Volunteer Opportunities: PRAY! Pray that each time Greg leads a team that lives are changed on the team as well as at the destination.

Interdenominational Christian Missions

Interdenominational Christian Missions (ICM) provides support for Christ-centered work to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ by partnering with people in Latin America through sharing, feeding, clothing, educating and counseling programs. They do this by taking the Bible to remote villages where there is a hunger to know about Christ. They assist churches and pastors in these regions as they endeavor to serve their people with the grace of the Lord and to learn to be the shepherd. ICM began in 1996 under the leadership of Ralph Fair. This is the ministry we partner with when we travel to Peru.

ICM Volunteer Opportunities: nineteen:ten sends annual trips to Peru. If you are interested, please contact Anne Haworth.

Give

Our purpose at nineteen:ten church has always been about finding people far from God so they can be restored to a loving relationship found only in Jesus. There’s no greater generosity than investing in the one thing Jesus built - the local church. With God’s favor and your support, we have seen the lost found and baptized, marriages & relationships restored, lives transformed, needs met, the equipping of the next generation and much more.
